We are looking for an Kubernetes Engineer for an 12 Month Day Rate Contract on a hybrid basis in Belfast.
Deloitte is seeking an experienced Kubernetes Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team on an initial 12-month contract.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes-based platforms, supporting the delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native solutions.
What you'll do;
- Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across cloud and/or on-premises environments.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerised applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
- Implement infrastructure automation and platform engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with development, architecture, security, and operations teams to deliver cloud-native solutions.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated application delivery.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, and security, proactively identifying areas for improvement.
The skills you'll need
- Strong commercial experience with Kubernetes (K8s) administration and engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerisation technologies.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform
- Azure
- AWS
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong understanding of Linux systems administration.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as:
- Azure Dev Ops
- Jenkins
- Git Hub Actions
- Git Lab CI
• Infrastructure as Code experience using
- Terraform
- Ansible
- Bicep or equivalent
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as
- Prometheus
- Grafana
- ELK Stack
- Splunk
- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimisation skills.
- Technical & Ways of Working
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS).
- Experience with Open Shift.
- Service Mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
- Git Ops tooling such as Argo CD or Flux.
- Experience in regulated financial services or large enterprise environments.
