The care assistant attends to personal needs and comforts of the elderly and infirm (the service user) with care and support within the care home.
Responsibilities
- To provide personal care, attention and assist service users with showering, shaving, hygiene and dressing in accordance with planned care.
- To monitor the service user’s physical needs, and ensure their well-being, comfort and dignity are met.
- To assist in serving meals to service users and ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- To undertake light cleaning and domestic duties.
- To maintain accurate records of service user’s care and report changes in their condition promptly.
- To encourage and assist service users in leisure pursuits and offer them emotional support.
- To liaise with professional staff in carrying out care plans.
The care worker's duties may vary from time to time but their commitment to enhancing service user’s lives remains constant. The worker will be expected to work a period of 42 hours per week [to be confirmed].
