Role Purpose

The Senior Insolvency Administrator manages a portfolio of corporate and personal insolvency cases from post‑appointment through to closure, ensuring statutory compliance, efficient case progression, asset realisation and high‑quality stakeholder communication. The role exists to deliver timely, compliant and commercially effective outcomes for creditors while supporting the wider team through mentoring and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of insolvency cases (CVLs, MVLs, Administrations, Bankruptcies, CVAs) from handover to closure, ensuring statutory deadlines are met.
  • Maintain accurate case files, statutory registers and electronic records in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare statutory documentation including progress reports, annual reports, creditor correspondence, dividend notices and closure documents.
  • Conduct investigations into company affairs, director conduct and potential recovery actions (preferences, TU, misfeasance, DLA, asset recovery).
  • Progress asset realisations and liaise with valuers, auctioneers, solicitors and agents to maximise returns for creditors. Act as a key stakeholder contact for directors, creditors, employees and professional advisers, providing timely and professional updates.
  • Support and mentor junior team members, reviewing work and contributing to workflow planning.
  • Ensure compliance with the Insolvency Act 1986, Insolvency Rules 2016, SIPs, AML, data protection and internal policies.
  • Prepare files for internal and external compliance reviews and maintain high standards of documentation quality.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ insolvency experience, including post‑appointment case management.
  • Experience managing competing deadlines and progressing cases efficiently.
  • Experience liaising directly with directors, creditors and professional advisers.
  • Technical skills (e.g. systems, methodologies)
  • Strong technical knowledge of CVLs, MVLs, Administrations, Compulsory Liquidations, Bankruptcies and CVAs.
  • Ability to prepare statutory reports and maintain statutory records.
  • Experience conducting investigations and supporting recovery actions. Knowledge of IPS or similar insolvency software (desirable).

Qualifications Desirable:

  • CPI Qualified or studying towards CPI
