AMG Chrome Limited are looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer Apprentice to complete a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician apprenticeship and join their team. The successful candidate will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to support the maintenance, repair, and improvement of production equipment for our Chrome production facility.
Role & responsibilities:
- Assist with the reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of machinery, and plant systems
- Support maintenance engineers in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance faults
- Learn to maintain and troubleshoot production machinery, controls systems, motors, and conveyors
- Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment
- Carry out routine inspections and equipment checks
- Follow maintenance schedules and complete job reports
- Follow standard safety practices and procedures including the proper use of tools and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Follow instructions from supervisor/manager
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety, and legislative requirements at all times
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and contribute to general workshop duties
- Attend AMRC Training Centre sessions, record work activities, and support the completion of apprenticeship coursework and assessments

- Awareness of health & safety and environmental responsibilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Personal qualities the candidate must have:
- Strong interest in engineering, maintenance, or manufacturing
- Willingness to develop both mechanical and electrical skills
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced engineers
Qualification Requirements:
- GCSE English language C or 4 or above
- GCSE Maths C or 4 or above
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
