We are currently recruiting for an experienced Property Manager to join an established and successful property business in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented property professional looking to take responsibility for a varied residential property portfolio and play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to landlords and tenants.

The Role

As Property Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a portfolio of rental properties, ensuring properties are well maintained, compliant and managed efficiently throughout the tenancy lifecycle.

You will act as a key point of contact for both landlords and tenants, coordinating maintenance, managing compliance requirements and ensuring a smooth and professional service at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a designated portfolio of residential rental properties.
  • Oversee the full tenancy lifecycle, including inventories, move-ins, check-outs and renewals.
  • Ensure properties meet all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including gas safety, electrical safety and EPC compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to tenancies, communications, compliance and property activity.
  • Act as the main point of contact for landlords and tenants, responding to queries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Provide landlords with regular updates regarding property performance, maintenance and compliance.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance, liaising with contractors and suppliers to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Carry out property inspections and proactively identify maintenance or compliance issues.
  • Monitor rental payments and manage arrears where required.
  • Prepare end-of-tenancy accounts and assist with deposit disputes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across lettings and administration to ensure a seamless service.
  • Contribute market knowledge and insight to support wider team objectives and business targets.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within property management or residential lettings, preferably within a busy estate or lettings agency environment.

You will also have:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Good knowledge of residential lettings legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience using property management software and general IT systems.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • ARLA Propertymark qualification would be advantageous, although not essential. Candidates willing to work towards the qualification will also be considered.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 9:30am – 5:30pm
  • One Saturday in three: 9:30am – 1:00pm
  • 40 hours per week
