Are you a Packaging Technologist looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a growing bakery business? We are partnering with a highly successful and expanding bakery manufacturer that supplies innovative products to major retail and foodservice customers across the UK. As the business continues to invest in new product development, sustainability initiatives and packaging innovation, we are seeking a Packaging Technologist to join the technical team. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of packaging projects from concept through to launch, working closely with NPD, Operations, Technical, Procurement and external suppliers.
The Role
- As Packaging Technologist, you will play a key role in developing, improving and implementing packaging solutions that meet customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities and sustainability objectives.
- Develop new packaging formats and materials for existing and new products.
- Manage packaging projects from concept through to factory implementation.
- Ensure packaging complies with legal, retailer and customer requirements.
- Conduct packaging trials and support factory validations.
- Liaise with suppliers to source innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Create and maintain packaging specifications and technical documentation.
- Support sustainability and packaging reduction initiatives.
- Investigate packaging issues and drive continuous improvement activities.
- Work cross-functionally with Technical, NPD, Production and Procurement teams.
