Overview
We are looking for a quality engineer to join an award-winning team with a proven track record of combining data science techniques with an intimate knowledge of payments data to aid Financial Institutions in their fight against money laundering and fraud. Headquartered in The City of London, we craft bespoke services that help our clients gain an understanding of the underlying criminal behaviour that drives financial crime, empowering them to take action.
As part of the application development team, your role will focus on testing products and ensuring quality from proof of concept to deployment. This will involve iterating existing products and designing and developing new ones.
Role
- Assist in task planning and review as part of a sprint-based workflow.
- Test against stories completed within a sprint, work with developers to resolve any defects.
- Build test cases against product functionality.
- Run functional tests on a test environment, including the use of test services and UI/API scripts – provide evidence of a pass or raise tickets to solve bugs.
- Adhere to and implement enterprise quality standards, processes and tools, and
- Develop and implement build control strategies or QA tools/processes.
- Translate complex system requirements and specs into test requirements and testing methods.
- Identify and implement complex automation efforts.
- Be responsible for initiatives as an individual contributor with advanced knowledge within discipline.
- Create test plan, test strategies and approaches for various products.
- Automate testing where appropriate; update and streamline test automation framework and maintain coding standard across teams.
- Understand product design and requirements, create sophisticated test cases and ensure quality.
- Work in an agile environment.
All About You
First and foremost, you enjoy building and testing products to solve real, pressing problems for your customers. You enjoy working in a team and have an interest in data science and how advanced algorithms may be deployed as product offerings.
- Knowledge of the whole spectrum of software testing; including functional, regression, end-to-end & performance.
- Experience with large volumes of data and high throughput, low latency solutions.
- You are comfortable working in a DevOps based software development workflow, including building, testing, and continuous integration/deployment. You are also happy to be evolve along with the development processes and contribute to its success.
- You are comfortable communicating with a range of stakeholders, including subject matter experts, data scientists, software engineers and enterprise DevOps and security professionals.
- You have the ability to engage with best practices for code review, version control, & change control, balancing the need for a quality codebase with the unique & particular demands of scale up stage software engineering.
- You have experience of optimising solution performance with a constrained set of technologies.
- You have experience or are keen to engage with productionising machine learning technologies.
- Experience of test automation experience using latest technology in early software development life cycle.
- Understand best practices on BDD scripts on both backend and frontend applications.
- Experience of using different toolsets such as Postman, Jenkins, Docker, Cypress, Playwright, SQL client software, Load runner etc.
- Strong problem solving, fixing and analytical skills.
- Experience using project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Understand the importance of testing and Quality framework.
