Looking for an accomplished Technical Program Manager, gained in an environment with some or all of the following aspects: Online / Web / Internet / Digital / Web Accessibility / Software design and development. The successful candidate must be proactive and have the ability to manage multiple projects at once, whilst remaining in control of each project. They must have the ability to flex to changing priorities and must be proactive in their approach.

Responsibilities

  • The resource will be responsible for project management activities for a team of engineering consultants in Web Accessibility and Accessible Design, on multiple concurrent webs, mobile web and software development projects, managing multiple projects at once.
  • The candidate must be self-sufficient and proactive, and very importantly a superbly effective communicator who is able to influence external project teams (project managers, engineering leads, business analysts and designers) to incorporate recommendations from the Accessibility expert practice into their solution design before going live-to-site.
  • The core team the candidate will work with day-to-day are leading experts in Accessibility. They are focused in pursuing a vision of excellence in Accessible design for everyone and reaching beyond current definitions of what's possible in the market.
  • There is a strong camaraderie within the team based on these common values. The appropriate candidate should be able to relate well with others, understanding and appreciating that there are multiple ways to achieve solutions, and encouraging creative approaches to meet difficult challenges.
  • The working environment is dynamic and fast-paced. Candidates should demonstrate that they have worked in similar environments and have been able to manage within and adapt to a fast pace of change, and that are able to work productively against demanding deadlines and requirements.
  • Candidates will be required to manage simultaneous multiple projects of differing sizes, all at different points throughout the project lifecycle.

To succeed in this challenging role, it is essential that candidates are able to work proactively and independently with project stakeholders based internationally. Therefore, candidates need to demonstrate excellent communication skills in English, and a professional manner to be able to be both firm and diplomatic in demanding and achieving very high levels of compliance to Accessibility requirements for all software development projects in flight.

Aptitude

  • Broad knowledge of different project management techniques, and deep knowledge of Agile and (Modified) Waterfall methodologies in the context of web and/or software development.
  • Relevant and current project management certification (PMP, CAPM, CSM etc.).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Able to work independently, with initiative.
