Job Title: IT Business Analyst – Accounting & Ledger Location: Northampton, UK Duration: 6 Months (Contract) and extendable Total Experience: 5+ Years Job Description: We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst (BA) with a strong background in accounting and ledger systems . The ideal candidate should have investment banking (IB) experience and possess relevant qualifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA), CFA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent . Strong SQL skills are essential for this role. Key Responsibilities: Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements related to accounting and ledger systems . Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine financial reporting, reconciliation, and general ledger functionalities . Work closely with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of accounting rules and reporting requirements. Perform data analysis and validation using SQL queries to support decision-making and troubleshooting. Support system enhancements, upgrades, and migrations related to financial systems . Act as a bridge between finance and IT teams, ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements. Assist in testing and validation of financial data, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Provide ongoing support for accounting applications and resolve any finance-related system issues. Mandatory Skills & Qualifications: Accounting and ledger experience in a financial or banking environment. Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation. Experience in investment banking (IB) or financial services. Professional qualifications such as CA, CFA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent . Preferred Skills: Experience working with financial reconciliation and reporting systems . Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to accounting and financial reporting . Understanding of ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
