Job Description:
- Support the networking projects and changes by providing input from infra (VMWare, OS and desktop) perspective.
- Supporting and dealing with Vendors coming for hands and feet support to the manufacturing site.
- Support for end point interaction with manufacturing and office networks; network switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, printers, battery backups, digital signage, security cameras, security intercoms, card access, time clocks, PLCs.
- Management of physical network infrastructure of manufacturing and office locations; MDFs, IDFs, data closets.
- Support multiple network environments relating to office, manufacturing, warehouse, development, test cells, security.
- Help and troubleshooting with VoIP devices.
- Network administration: IP addressing, routing, etc.
- CGD Support: Identify and resolve user hardware/workstation problems.
- Support installation/configuration/troubleshooting of Cisco IOS LAN Switches.
- Coordinates and/or performs installation, troubleshooting, and repair of voice and data cabling in wiring IDF (intermediate distribution facilities) closets and computer rooms.
- Network components, wiring and cabling methods, concepts, various applications and assure local building codes are adhered to.
- Thorough understanding of the technical aspects of LAN/WAN hardware and software.
- Provide assistance in identifying and documenting processes and procedures.
- Assist Network Operations with troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
- Proficient in managing multiple networking projects in various areas of the facility.
- Act as a focal point for mission critical data centre networking problem resolution for Cisco Equipment, including virtual switches, VLAN, Spanning Tree.
- Break/fix hardware and software support, including troubleshooting at the desktop for problem determination.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all workstations.
- Installing software on the client systems.
- Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors to resolve hardware problems, as required.
- Install and test replacement parts.
- Knowledge and Experience in the Configuration, Setup and Support of RF Scanners.
- Printing support – Zebra Printers, and other Label printers.
- Desktop and Laptop support.
- Basic troubleshooting support of LAN devices, servers and networked printers.
- Basic understanding of network terminologies.
- Solves day to day issues and performs root cause analysis of common/major problems.
Other Skills:
- Ability to coordinate with external third party supplier to provide level 2 and 3 support.
- High integrity and customer focus.
- Problem solving/root causing skills.
