Due to continued growth and success, we are now looking to recruit an Engineering Estimator to join our well-established and highly respected team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within a forward-thinking business that truly invests in its people.
The Role:
As an Engineering Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting project delivery by producing accurate, competitive, and commercially sound estimates. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing contract documents, specifications, and engineering drawings
- Logging and managing quotation enquiries for precision-engineered products and services
- Compiling detailed cost assessments, bids, and tender submissions
- Calculating material, labour, transport, plant, and equipment hire costs
- Sourcing and negotiating quotations from suppliers and sub-contractors
- Preparing and submitting professional quotations to clients
- Clarifying client requirements and providing tailored engineering solutions
- Conducting site visits and assessing health & safety and risk requirements
- Keeping up to date with inflation, exchange rates, and market trends
- Presenting bids, answering client queries, and supporting work quality submissions
- Liaising closely with Sales, Design, Production, and wider engineering teams
The Candidate:
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3-5 years experience in a precision engineering, manufacturing, or engineering environment
- A solid background in mechanical engineering or precision manufacturing
- Strong commercial awareness and sound business judgement
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
- Knowledge of specialist sub-contract machining and manufacturing processes
- Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills
