As part of our continued growth strategy, we are investing in our commercial team and are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive business development within the Industrial Power market. This is a pivotal role focused on securing new business with Tier 1 contractors, OEMs and major industrial organisations, helping to expand BPE's presence across the UK and international markets.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Sales Manager / Account Manager with a strong track record in selling industrial engineered/produced products including machined parts, assembled systems, or non-ferrous components into complex, regulated industries such as rail, power generation, aerospace, defence, and heavy industry.

The role focuses on developing new opportunities and growing existing smaller accounts, ultimately managing and expanding a core portfolio of 1015 high-value industrial clients. Youll be expected to develop long-term, trust-based relationships and generate sales in the £100,000s per contract, with a personal annual target in the £2M+ range.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in technical consultative sales, understands the complexity of industrial supply chains, and is comfortable being regularly on-site with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of 1015 key industrial accounts with significant spend potential
  • Win new business and grow smaller, underdeveloped accounts into major revenue streams
  • Sell into industries such as rail, power, defence, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing
  • Engage customers at all levels from engineering to procurement to board-level decision-makers
  • Conduct regular client site visits to build relationships and identify opportunities
  • Work closely with internal technical, engineering, and operations teams to create bespoke solutions
  • Manage full sales cycle: lead generation, technical consultation, proposals, negotiation, and closing
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, pipelines, and monthly/quarterly performance reports

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years experience in B2B sales of engineered/machined/assembled industrial products, ideally into sectors such as:

  • Rail infrastructure or rolling stock
  • Power generation or energy distribution (non-ferrous components)
  • Aerospace or defence (assembled or precision-engineered parts)
  • Heavy industry, OEMs, or high-spec subcontract manufacturing
  • Demonstrable experience handling contracts worth £100,000+
  • Proven ability to deliver £2M+ annual sales revenue, either directly or as part of a team
  • Excellent client relationship and account development skills
  • Technically literate with the ability to understand and communicate engineering principles
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Willing and able to travel regularly for client visits (primarily UK-based)
  • Degree not essential hands-on experience and results are what matter most

What We Offer:

  • Competitive base salary up to £65,000, DOE
  • Performance-based commission/bonus scheme
  • Company benefits package (pension, holidays, expenses)
  • Flexible working with field/client focuses and 12 days per week in HQ
  • Direct influence over strategic key accounts with significant revenue potential
  • Supportive, growing business with a strong reputation in industrial engineering and manufacturing
