Growth / GTM Engineer — Job Spec (Amplified Group)
About Amplified Group
Amplified Group is a group of people-services businesses for technology companies, working across the UK, Europe and the US. Three brands: Foundation Partners (embedded people and talent — we run the people and talent function for seed to Series A tech), JBM (executive search) and Unleashed (leadership development).
We sell high-value, recurring services to a large and growing client base. Growth to date has come almost entirely from the founders' and partners' networks, alongside a small marketing team running content, events and community. The group has grown rapidly into a multi-brand, multi-market business with a large and expanding client base, and that growth is accelerating — our newest market, the US, has become our fastest-growing in a matter of months. This role exists because the networks that got us here now need systems behind them to take us to the next stage.
The role
You will build the systems that turn our network, data and market signals into pipeline — across all three brands. Our partners and marketing team are excellent at execution (an event, a campaign, a conversation); you are the system thinker who sits alongside them and makes those things repeatable, low-friction and self-serve.
Reports to: Andrew Richardson, CEO & Co‑founder
Level: 2–3 years' experience
Salary: £60k–£80k
Location: London-based or able to travel to London for a day or two at a time.
The direction is set — Andrew has prototyped the first versions of these systems himself (daily Claude-driven lead alerts, HubSpot connections, group reporting). Your job is to take them on, take them considerably further, and find the ten things we haven't thought of yet.
What you'll build
In priority order. The first is the hardest and the most valuable.
- Signal → network → nudge engine (first 90 days). Monitor the market for signals that mean a company needs people and talent help: funding rounds (seed / Series A, no people function), hiring of people roles, senior departures, international expansion, new‑market entry. For each signal, work out how we are connected — which partner, founder, investor or community member knows them — then push the right person a suggested message to send. Human always presses send. The hard part: our network changes constantly, so the connection graph (CRM, LinkedIn, warm intros, partner networks) must stay in sync.
- Self‑serve events. A partner says "I want to run an event on the January employment‑law changes for these founders" and the system does the rest: Luma event, pre‑built CRM list, email campaign, and a set of messages for ten colleagues to send to five contacts each. Marketing stays in the loop for quality; nobody builds it from scratch.
- Self‑serve content. A partner dictates the three points they want to make this week; the system drafts the posts, then nudges them when it's time to publish. Extend to "you should comment on this" prompts matched to each partner's interests (e.g. employment law, founder ambition and intensity).
- Inbound. Enrich and route the inbound leads we do get, and build the organic‑traffic foundations that explain why a market this big sends us so few.
- Group visibility. Reporting that shows everyone when a new lead arrives, who is already speaking to them and about what, so the group acts as one network rather than three.
Longer term, give every partner their own small set of agents — research, posts, outreach — so each can operate as a mini business in their own right.
Who you are
- Two to three years in marketing, growth, RevOps or sales operations — and somewhere along the way you realised you enjoy the data and the systems more than the campaigns.
- Commercially minded: you can reverse‑engineer from "more qualified pipeline" to the system that produces it, and you have seen your work turn into revenue, not just tables.
- Fluent with the current GTM stack — Claude / Claude Code, Clay, HubSpot, enrichment and data tools, LinkedIn and email automation — and restless about it, because the tools change every three months.
- A system thinker: you see an event or a post and ask how to make it happen without you next time.
- Comfortable with human‑in‑the‑loop design. Our contracts are large and relationship‑led; a badly automated message costs far more than it saves.
- Picks up nuance: notices that a network graph goes stale, that a partner would rather WhatsApp than email, that an investor intro needs a different message from a founder intro.
- Self‑directed. Given an outcome, you get on with it, and you bring ideas we haven't thought of and test them.
- Enjoys working in a people business — you'll be building for partners, not engineers.
How we work
- Human in the loop, always. You build the research, the connection and the suggested message. A person decides whether and how it goes.
- Partner‑led, system‑supported. Partners and the marketing team own relationships and execution; you own the machinery underneath.
- Remote‑first with London time. Andrew splits his time between Spain and London. You should be able to spend a day or two in London with the team when he is there.
- Experiment and ship. Try it, test it, drop it or scale it. A quick prototype beats a long specification.
- Package. £60k‑£80k depending on experience, full‑time employee.
Hiring process
- Introductory conversation with Andrew — the business, the role, your background.
- Build exercise. We give you our real problem: a values‑led business built on network and community that needs a more data‑led way to optimise that network. Build us a working prototype we could genuinely use. We're looking for commercial judgement and the nuances you spot (for example, how the network stays in sync), rather than polish.
- Team and culture conversations with partners and the marketing team.
- Offer.
