Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has opened up for the right AV exec/senior exec looking to make the jump into an AV manager role. Off the back of growth in the business and several new accounts across the agency, we are looking to grow our Dentsu X AV team in 2022. Dentsu X is unique - established in the UK in 2020, we combine market leading skills in media, technology, creativity and data to help brands create valuable experiences for their customers. We are innovative in our AV planning and are proud to be one of only 19 agencies that have achieved the IPA Effectiveness Accreditation 2021-2023.

Accounts you will be working across include the newly won Kingfisher Group, The Very Group, Jaguar Land Rover, William Gant & Sons, and DAZN. Each account is fast-paced, with different challenges that influence our AV planning. They are all exciting and rewarding accounts to work across, with great opportunities for the right candidate to take ownership of.

The candidate will report into the AV Director with the expectation of delivering best in class AV planning across all campaigns. They will demonstrate they are a first-class operator that sets a high standard: showing robust organisation, diligence, productivity and commercial acumen.

As an AV Manager your responsibilities will cover (not exhaustive):

  • Manage the team to deliver consistent and best in class campaigns across AV
  • Ensure client servicing is to a high standard for you and all direct reports
  • Develop strong relationships with media owners
  • Demonstrate your expertise across AV on a regular basis
  • Bring progressive ideas to life in media response and operational excellence

Key Responsibilities

Planning

  • Provide high quality implementation and innovative media solutions in response to briefs from comms planners and/or clients.
  • Full understanding of TV and Audio channels and approaches within the planning process.
  • Responsible for the correct management of AV Investment across your clients which includes AVP management, Caria uploads and billings.
  • Building strong working relationships with mid-level media owners (managers and group heads).
  • Implement innovative and creative ideas to the AV planning process for your clients and share with the wider team.
  • Providing audit data for all TV, radio, cinema and VOD campaigns, where appropriate.
  • Attending relevant media owner meetings & surgeries.
  • Support our ways of working with Dentsu North to ensure brilliant relationships between teams and that you are engaged in the buying priorities and overview.
  • Manage your client’s PRF working with Dentsu North and engage in trading that supports our initiatives as well as client cost guarantees.
  • Ensure that we are delivering campaigns to planned campaign targets including key quality + value parameters.
  • Review previous activity, providing clients with detailed breakdown of results and opportunities for improvement of future activity.

Operational Excellence

  • Expert use of industry wide AV systems. Able to pull data confidently, with an in-depth knowledge of the system. Able to assist and develop knowledge of others across the team.
  • Building strong working relationships with DAN Opco’s including Amplifi Commercial, MBST and TSLA.
  • Able to confidently train and develop the Junior members in the team.
  • Implement innovative and creative ideas to the operating processes across the department.
  • Liaising with the admin team to ensure that all admin is up to date and accurate by required deadlines (Reporting / billings, PCAs etc).

Department Contribution

  • Regularly contributing to AV Department meetings, providing in-depth analysis to show wider business your AV knowledge.
  • Be a key part of projects of change across the department, using your expertise to assess and recommend current practices.
  • Helping to train & develop direct reports, including identifying and addressing any training or development needs across AV (CARIA / DDS / Prisma / Stack etc).
  • Be an inspiring advocate for all AV media: translating to teamwork which delivers clients' objectives.
  • Supports new business pitches when required.
  • Share and contribute opinion of media news on Teams, at department meetings and newsletter.
  • Be an active member of an island team, promoting an aspect of AV (e.g. marketplace, cinema, etc).
  • Being a Dentsu Ambassador, understanding the DentsuX vision current + future.
  • Manage your team’s workflow, output and development.
  • Ensures development of team members, making sure content of regular catch-ups are aligned to personal development plans and business objectives.
