The HSEQ Manager is responsible for leading and embedding a robust health, safety, environmental and quality culture across the business, supporting delivery of multiple, large-scale projects. The role provides operational leadership across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and continual improvement in line with recognised international standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Integrated Management Systems & Accreditation: Overall responsibility for the management, maintenance and continual improvement of the company’s ISO Integrated Management Systems, including Quality and Environmental standards. Ownership of Safe T-Cert accreditation, ensuring ongoing compliance and successful external audits. Coordination of internal and external audits and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Health & Safety Leadership: Conduct site visits and audits to identify hazards, mitigate risk, address unsafe behaviours, and reinforce high safety standards. Develop and implement short-term and long-term safety strategies aligned to existing delivery contracts and business growth objectives. Act as a visible leader in promoting a proactive and positive safety culture across all project sites.
- Risk Management & Construction Safety: Development, review and approval of risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and Construction Phase Safety Plans for projects in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Review and approval of subcontractor health and safety documentation and compliance information. Liaise with internal stakeholders prior to commencement of works to ensure coordinated and compliant project start-up.
- Training & Competence Management: Maintain and oversee the training management system to ensure workforce competence, certification compliance, and ongoing skills development. Manage the subcontractor assessment and approval process, ensuring consistent application of safety and quality standards across the supply chain.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Provide internal and external reporting on HSEQ performance to a range of clients, senior management, and regulatory stakeholders. Support client audits, inspections, and performance reviews, acting as the primary HSEQ point of contact.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in a senior HSEQ role within construction, fit-out or M&E environments.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO management systems and Safe T-Cert.
- Experience operating across multiple geographies (NI and ROI).
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
