Our client, an engineering and manufacturing organisation specialising in advanced electrification and electromechanical technologies, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations across multiple production environments. The role focuses on new product introduction, production support, automation systems, and process improvement activities. Working closely with engineering and production teams, the successful candidate will help ensure efficient manufacturing processes, reliable equipment performance, and successful integration of new technologies into production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including manufacturing readiness, process setup, and validation activities.
  • Investigate and resolve production-related issues involving PLC-controlled and automated systems.
  • Support manufacturing communication platforms and industrial integration technologies, including systems such as Node-RED and MQTT.
  • Assist with database connectivity and server integration within manufacturing environments.
  • Participate in PFMEA activities and support implementation of risk mitigation actions.
  • Analyse production cycle times and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, performance, and reliability.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience within manufacturing engineering or a similar engineering environment.
  • Strong experience with PLCs and industrial automation systems (e.g. Siemens, Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley).
  • Understanding of manufacturing communication systems and industrial integration technologies.
  • Experience supporting automated production equipment and manufacturing systems.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, process development methodologies, and cycle time analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills within manufacturing environments.
  • Practical and analytical approach to resolving technical manufacturing challenges.
  • Comfortable supporting both production and engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with Node-RED, MQTT, or similar industrial communication and integration platforms.
  • Familiarity with database connectivity and server integration in a manufacturing context.
