Purpose of the role:

Management and Execution of Measurement Systems and Analysis.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Performing and Maintaining detailed records of Inspection Plans, ISIRS, and FAIRS.
  • Developing Measurement Policies to reduce scrap in the machine shop.
  • To be participate in product Design Reviews to promote repeatability and reliability for production.
  • Conduct capability studies / gage R&R as directed.
  • Carries out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.

Person Specification:

Essential:

Qualifications

  • Working Knowledge of Metrology with a background in Quality Engineering.

Experience

  • Able to understand and read engineering drawings.
  • Excellent knowledge of Quality Systems.
  • Ability to Maintain Detailed Quality records.

Technical

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Applied Working Knowledge and use of basic Metrology tool, Imperial and Metric.
  • PC literate including Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Skills and Competencies

  • Understanding manufacturing processes and tolerances.
  • A bility to clearly communicate technical information to technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to work unsupervised and meet deadline under pressure.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Self-Motivated, with the ability to prioritise workload and met deadlines.
  • Computer Skills.

Desirable:

Experience

  • Experience with Co-ordinate Measurement Machine (CMM).
  • Experience with Optical Measurement Systems.
  • Internal Auditor to AS9100D.

Technical

  • Familiarity with a wide range of material, primarily Plastics, Rubber and Metals and their method of inspection.
  • Experience with First Article Inspection to AS9102.
