The Vacancy
Amphenol is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager (Military Aerospace) to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving sustainable and profitable growth within one of our most strategically important market sectors.
Working with leading defence and aerospace customers worldwide, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, strengthening existing customer relationships, and expanding Amphenol's presence across the military aerospace market.
Leveraging the full breadth of Amphenol's industry-leading product portfolio, you will help shape growth strategies that deliver long-term value for both our customers and the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver sales and growth targets within the Military Aerospace market in line with Company and Group objectives.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to maximise opportunities within existing customers and secure new business wins.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across customer organisations, acting as a trusted commercial partner.
- Identify emerging market trends, technologies, and customer requirements to support future growth initiatives.
- Generate and develop a robust pipeline of opportunities, managing prospects through to successful contract award.
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiations for complex, high-value opportunities.
- Forecast sales and order intake accurately, providing regular updates on progress, risks, opportunities, and market developments.
- Represent Amphenol at customer meetings, industry exhibitions, trade events, and conferences across the UK and internationally.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, programme management, and customer service teams to ensure exceptional customer support and delivery.
- Promote new products, technologies, and solutions, supporting customers with product awareness and adoption activities.
- Act as the primary customer interface for business development activities within the Military Aerospace sector.
- What we are looking for
- Proven experience in business development, sales, account management, or a related commercial role.
- Demonstrable success in developing customer relationships and delivering sales growth.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to identify, evaluate, and convert business opportunities.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles, commercial negotiations, and high‑value contracts.
- Ability to manage and communicate a diverse sales pipeline effectively.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using CRM systems, sales forecasting, and business reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Power Point.
- Degree qualified in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience within the Military, Defence, Aerospace, or related high‑reliability engineering sectors.
- Knowledge of connector, cable assembly, or electronic interconnect technologies.
- Experience working within an international manufacturing or engineering organisation.
