Based in Whitstable, AMAR designs and manufactures high-quality precision components for harsh and demanding environments for a broad range of applications in sectors such as oil and gas, aerospace, marine, nuclear and defence.
The purpose of the role is to maximise sales conversion through efficient processing of enquiries and orders, and thorough, timely customer contact from the Sales Office. The role involves providing sales support within Martec to ensure seamless service is delivered to the client base in a timely manner, and working with and supporting the Business Development Managers and Sales Coordinators.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Engaging with Martec clients both on and off site in a supporting role and independently where applicable as requested by the management team with the aim of growing the customer account in line with strategic goals.
- Implementing, contributing to, and maintaining office-based sales procedures in accordance with the applicable Martec Standard Practices and the Martec Quality system, whilst maintaining and exceeding the departmental and individual KPI requirements.
- Maintaining the customer database, ensuring all activities from the team are recorded within the Opportunity Tracker where appropriate and providing reports and analysis as required.
- Processing new sales enquiries, including the collation of information used to determine acceptance of NPI enquiries.
- Preparation of quotes - using technical drawings to identify BOM, gathering required information including negotiation with component suppliers for use in calculation of product pricing.
- Following up with clients after quotation to maximise conversion rates within agreed KPI’s.
- Conducting contract review on orders to ensure accuracy prior to processing via ERP system.
- Ensuring customer requested delivery is achieved within SLA targets, identifying issues so that escalation and countermeasures can be put in place, avoiding customer shipping failures.
- Providing customer liaison in the event of delays or issues with products and services.
- Ensuring export compliance when processing quotations and orders is adhered to (where applicable).
- Analysing order frequency and prompting customers to raise orders as required.
- Updating the team revenue tracker to ensure forecast accuracy on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
- Hosting and supporting regular customer meetings via Teams: Open order book reviews / OTIF and general Q.
