You’ll work with our senior lawyers to assist on wide range of cases, build up your own caseload and help our team to deliver a fantastic service to our clients.
- The opportunity to be a key part of the team working with leaders to help develop and define the Clinical Negligence function.
- Having you own caseload and building a portfolio that will develop your career in the Leicester/East Midlands market
This role will require you to be in the Leicester office at least once per week.
Key Responsibilities
Our Clinical Negligence team deal with claims arising as a result of healthcare professionals acting against the interests of our client’s health.
We advise clients who have suffered physical, mental or economic loss as a result of this negligence and guide them through the initial investigation into their claim and thereafter proceeding through the pre-action and post issue phases of County and High Court litigation.
We also regularly attend our client’s inquests. Our specialist team have dealt with thousands of claims against hospital trusts, private healthcare providers, care homes, individual GPs and dentists on a variety of different injuries ranging from low to high severity, with particular expertise in relation to fatal claims, industrial disease cases, amputations, brain injury and multiple injuries.
You will be an integral part of our Leicester team, attending events, and being a visible presence in the office as we grow.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- a minimum of 2 years’ experience working on clinical negligence cases, including issued cases
- proven experience of dealing with complex and straightforward claims
- strong IT skills
- commercial awareness
- a desire to exceed client expectations
- a high degree of initiative and the ability to cope in a demanding environment
- excellent organisational and prioritising skills
- the ability to work in a busy teamexcellent communication skills
- a desire to enhance client relationships through day to day activity
- routinely recording 100% of chargeable time per month
- feeling and exhibiting empathy for our clients
- a desire to build a profile in Leicester / East Midlands including getting involved with Leicester office initiatives
- importantly a sense of humour and a desire to be an integral part of a strong and ambitious team
