Ampa's Data & Analytics team is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer & Data Engineer to deliver enterprise-grade analytics and data solutions across debt finance (DebtTrak/Aderant) and Peppermint CMS reporting.
What you will be doing:
- Lead the design, build, and optimise Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models for finance, debt, and operation teams.
- Engineer data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines) and Azure integration.
- Model data from DebtTrak, Aderant, and Dynamics-based CMS into governed, blended and scalable datasets.
- Implement incremental refresh, composite models, calculation groups, and performance tuning.
- Configure and manage Power BI workspaces, deployment pipelines, and access controls.
- Automate reporting workflows and enable self-service analytics for business users.
- Deliver validated financial models and role-based reports for debt, finance and legal services.
- Integrate and reconcile data across multiple systems, ensuring accuracy and auditability.
- Lead the transition from legacy reporting (SSRS) to Power BI, embedding best practices.
- Champion the co-development of Fabric utilities, templates, and standards with the Fabric Administrator.
- Drive adoption of data product conventions, Git integration, and monitoring/logging for scale.
- Partner with Data Engineering, Finance, Legal Operations, and business stakeholders to mature the platform.
- Document solutions, create user guides, and contribute to a knowledge base for repeatability.
Governance & Compliance:
- Embed GDPR, data protection, and least privilege access in solutions.
- Certify datasets, apply sensitivity labels, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Implement data quality checks, maintain data lineage documentation, and support audit readiness.
- Ensure robust security and compliance across all reporting assets.
What you will need:
Skills and experience
- Must have: Proven delivery of enterprise Power BI solutions (DAX, Power Query M, SQL).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines).
- Azure fundamentals (ADLS, managed identities, DevOps/Git).
- Dimensional modelling, data product thinking, performance optimisation.
- Experience building financial/debt-related models and reports.
- Nice to have: Domain experience with Aderant and Dynamics/Peppermint.
- Legal services data and finance process knowledge.
- Automation of testing and documentation.
- Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst or Fabric Analytics Engineer.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with stakeholders across business and technical teams.
