SQL Developer in England

Join to apply for the SQL Developer role at Ampa - Legal & Professional Services. Ampa are looking to add an experienced SQL Developer to their growing Applications & Development division on an initial 20-month contract.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and optimise SQL-based solutions.
• Developing and supporting existing SQL applications and integrations across the organisation’s application architecture within our Agile Delivery Processes.
• Collaborate with a team of developers and project managers to identify business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Propose and implement solutions to business requirements that align with our product roadmap and architecture.
• Support Change and Release Management processes as part of the software development lifecycle.
• Work as part of a team to transform the Application Architecture of the organisation and formalise best practice standards and methodologies.
• Perform data analysis and ensure data quality by performing data validation and quality checks.
• Use DevOps for workload management and version control.
• Analyse performance and optimise solutions to ensure maximum efficiency and scalability.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot reporting-related issues.
• Create visualisations and reports for requested projects.
• Conduct unit testing/test-driven development processes and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate and improve existing SQL-based solutions.

Role priorities

• Becoming familiar with the applications, integrated solutions, backlogs and current roadmaps as well as the supported business processes.
• Begin to undertake testing tasks, progressing to basic modifications and creations of features and then on to more complex developments.

What you will need

• A minimum of 3 years demonstrable track record of successful delivery of complex technical applications and services.
• Extensive experience in Microsoft SQL development, including Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL programming.
• Experience with Visual Studio.
• Strong knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools, such as SSIS.
• Experience with DevOps and version control systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to produce high quality technical material, and to identify and develop opportunities to provide business benefit.
• Strong operational transformation experience with an analytical skillset to assess, identify and exploit opportunities.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with the ability to think ahead and anticipate problems, issues, and solutions.
• Ability to build good relationships with stakeholders and colleagues.
