The role involves managing your own caseload and conducting litigation on multi-track matters, including some multi-million pound recoveries arising from damage to property and public infrastructure. You will supervise a high-performing sub-team handling matters in the fast and intermediate track, delivering exceptional results to meet internal and client expectations.
The Corclaim team is our niche Uninsured Loss Recovery team, consisting of specialists who focus solely on recovering uninsured losses for businesses in both the public and private sectors, covering Motor, Property, and Highways recovery. We recover these costs and losses from the “at fault” party or their insurers, aiming to overcome opposition challenges to retrieve maximum recoveries quickly and efficiently. Our philosophy is built around a core appreciation of what is important to our clients and how we can maximise their financial recoveries whilst protecting their reputation in the market. We are committed to building long-term relationships with our clients and tailor our services to be delivered in line with the values of any organisation we work with.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing your own caseload of claimant multi-track cases
- Investigating liability by gathering/assessing evidence and establishing negligence
- Negotiating quantum with defendant solicitors or representatives
- Instructing and liaising with experts
- Drafting legal proceedings and dealing with all aspects of litigation/compliance within the civil procedure rules
- Instructing and liaising with counsel
- Conducting and attending hearings where necessary
- Supervising sub-team fast and intermediate track claims handling – coaching, providing guidance and sharing best practice to maximise results
- Maintaining client relationships and attending review meetings where appropriate
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- The ability to prioritise well and produce a high standard of work, sometimes under tight time constraints, whilst maintaining accuracy and good attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills whilst maintaining team processes and procedures
- A pro-active approach in documenting and handling tasks/cases
- The ability to cope and respond to sudden client demands
- Good communication skills, a personal manner and the ability to negotiate matters
- An analytical, problem-solving approach
