We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking IT Director to lead technology across a dynamic, fast-growing legal and professional services environment. This is a critical senior leadership role, responsible for shaping and delivering a secure, resilient and client-focused IT strategy. You will ensure technology enables high-quality client service, supports fee-earning teams, and upholds the highest standards of data protection and regulatory compliance. You will lead a sizeable IT function, driving innovation while balancing operational stability and cyber risk in a highly confidential, regulated setting.
What you will be doing:
- IT Strategy & Leadership
- Define and deliver a firm-wide IT strategy aligned with business growth and client needs
- Partner with the C-suite and senior stakeholders on technology direction and risk
- Establish clear governance for investment prioritisation and decision-making
- Balance innovation with security, resilience and regulatory obligations
- Architecture (Enterprise & Solution)
- Own enterprise architecture across applications, infrastructure, data and security
- Ensure systems support core legal and professional services platforms
- Ensure security-by-design and strong information governance principles
- Delivery & Transformation
- Accountable for delivery of technology change programmes
- Oversee application development, configuration and integration across Operational Platforms (including Finance & HR), Client Delivery Platforms, Data & Analytics Platforms and Integration / Bespoke development Platforms.
- Manage third-party suppliers, system integrators and delivery partners
- IT Operations & Service Excellence
- Ensure reliable and responsive IT services for members and fee-earners
- Own incident, problem and change management processes
- Embed a customer-centric culture aligned with ITIL best practices
- Infrastructure & Platforms
- Oversee cloud, on-prem, network, and end-user computing environments
- Enable secure hybrid and remote working
- Ensure system resilience, availability and disaster recovery readiness
- Security Operations & Risks
- Lead cyber security operations, monitoring and incident response
- Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO27001 and client security frameworks
- Own technology risk, policies, and assurance processes
- Financial & Commercial Management
- Own the IT budget and technology investment planning
- Lead supplier strategy, contracts and commercial negotiations
- Leadership & Culture
- Lead and develop a high-performing senior IT team leaders and team
- Build capability, succession plans and a culture of service excellence
- Promote accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
What you will need:
You’ll be an established IT leader with a strong track record in complex, client-driven environments. Key experience includes:
- Senior IT leadership within Legal or Professional Services
- End-to-end ownership of IT strategy, applications, operations and security
- Supporting fee-earning or client delivery teams
- Managing large-scale teams and technology budgets
- Strong stakeholder engagement at Executive and Board level
Highly desirable:
- Experience in a private equity-backed environment
- Exposure to regulated, high-confidentiality industries
