The role

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Marketing team and play a central role in delivering our growth ambitions, with a specific focus on supporting our Mayo Wynne Baxter brand within the Ampa Group. This is a highly visible position, working alongside senior leaders and legal teams to develop and implement business development strategies that strengthen client relationships, generate new opportunities, and support sustainable growth. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, working across the wider Ampa Group to connect people, ideas, and expertise. We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, influencing stakeholders, and bringing commercial plans to life. With strong support, coaching, and development opportunities, you'll have the chance to shape both the role and your career as we continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and deliver business development strategies and growth plans.
  • Drive business development initiatives across teams and collaborate with colleagues across the wider Ampa Group.
  • Lead key account planning and client care programmes to strengthen relationships and identify growth opportunities.
  • Identify target markets and develop go-to-market strategies alongside marketing colleagues.
  • Lead and facilitate sales, pipeline, and business development meetings.
  • Build relationships with clients and prospects, introducing teams and services across the business.
  • Use CRM systems, client analytics, and market insight to identify and convert new work opportunities.
  • Develop referral networks and identify opportunities to strengthen strategic relationships.
  • Research and coordinate partnership and sponsorship opportunities that support business growth.
  • Work closely with marketing specialists to ensure effective delivery of campaigns, events, and initiatives.
  • Act as the link between fee-earning teams and wider marketing and business development functions.
  • Coach, challenge, and support partners and fee earners to achieve their individual business development goals.
