We're looking for an experienced Solicitor with a solid background in post completions to lead and shape our rapidly expanding MLS Post Completions team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role within a growing team, helping to drive quality, consistency, and innovation in how we deliver post completion services to our clients.
What you will be doing:
- Overseeing and delivering post completions work across our residential property files, while guiding and mentoring a team of junior fee earners.
- Reviewing property files to advise on necessary post completion actions.
- Managing residential property files in respect of sales and purchases as required.
- Obtaining and/or checking Land Registry documents or title deeds (if the land is unregistered).
- Submitting high quality applications (including registrations (lease and freehold), first registration of title, transfer of part) to HMLR to avoid requisitions wherever possible.
- Reviewing and managing correspondence from internal and external clients and third parties.
- Allocating work to the appropriate junior fee earners as required and supervising the same with file reviews and audits.
- Ensuring that junior fee earners receive regular and appropriate skills training as required.
- Producing, monitoring and updating various reports as required.
- Managing billing and other financial tasks for clients as required.
- Protecting clients' interests at all times, while taking precautions against potential fraud and money laundering.
- Sending letters of engagement with estimates of fees and disbursements.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships to drive business development and growth within the property sector.
- Liaising with HMLR and responding to all requisitions thoroughly.
- Preparing SDLT documents and submitting the same to HMRC.
- Contributing to the firm's strategy for growth in the property sector identifying new opportunities for expansion.
This role would suit someone with a tenacious and resilient approach to problem solving, who enjoys and works well in a fast-paced environment.
What you will need:
- A qualified Solicitor or Fee Earner with 5+ years' PQE or equivalent.
- Experienced in supervising junior fee earners.
- Knowledgeable in conveyancing from start to finish, with a strong focus on post completions.
- Familiar with Islamic finance transactions.
- Confident working with case management systems and driving process improvements.
- A strong communicator with a client-first approach and meticulous attention to detail.
- Organised, commercially aware, and proactive about team and client success.
