Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse looking to take the next step in your primary care career? We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our award-winning practice. We're a friendly, patient-centred GP practice committed to delivering high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Undertake all General practice chronic disease management as well as general practice nursing duties, including child and adult vaccinations, wound care and cytology (These 3 accreditations and experience are Mandatory).
- Competent in all QOF chronic disease reviews and immunisations.
- QOF related Chronic Disease Management.
- Routine immunisations / Childhood immunisations.
- Performing Cervical Cytology as part of the national screening programme.
- Providing wound care, dressings, removing sutures, etc.
- ECGs.
- Venepuncture.
- Contraception management.
- Knowledge of national and local guidelines with the ability to apply these to individual patients and set targets.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience in the above areas; holding a diploma as a minimum.
- Knowledge of all chronic diseases is not required; core knowledge and ability to assess follow-up of stable patients based on QOF requirements is essential.
- Non-Medical Prescribing certificate and Minor Ailments certificate are welcomed.
- Previous practice nurse VTS training experience is noted.
About the Practice
We are a national award-winning practice, including twice winners of NHS Leadership Awards. We offer community surgery at our practices, including onsite Carpal Tunnel Surgery conducted by Orthopaedic Consultants. We hold twice weekly suspect cancer clinics, which we are only 2 GP practices nationally to run. We have a total complement of over 30 staff including GPs (some specialising in Women’s Health and Mental Health), HCAs, Nurse Associates, Care Co-ordinators, Physician Associate, Practice Pharmacists, MSK practitioners and dedicated frontline administrative staff.
Hours, Flexibility and Benefits
Ideally we are looking for a candidate to work approximately 25–30 hours over 5 days, be flexible—ideally AM and PM sessions across main and branch sites. Lots of opportunities for overtime to cover colleagues’ holidays. We offer a highly competitive rate of pay.
