We have a fantastic opportunity for a Transport Operations Assistant to join our Operations team at our office in Telford.

The role will involve:
- Collating information provided by site and driver supervisors
- Reviewing and challenging costs from fleet suppliers and garages against agreed terms
- Monitoring fuel and maintenance costs, highlighting and reporting anomalies
- Working with the Fleet department to manage costs and ensure vehicle availability
- Collaborating with the Sales and Data Support Analyst to produce end-of-month reports for the Transport Operations Manager
- Compiling and maintaining vehicle and depot maintenance plans from sites
- Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process efficiencies in transport operations
- Preparing monthly driver overtime and hours in coordination with supervisors for the Transport Operations Manager
- Supporting planning activities to maximise vehicle utilisation and route efficiency
- Carrying out general administrative duties
What we are looking for:
Experience in delivering administration support in a fast moving and demanding operational environment, our successful candidate will also demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Demonstrable experience working in a transport or fleet operations environment
- Experience liaising with garages, suppliers, and external stakeholders
- Experience producing reports and supporting operational management
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and confident with data handling and reporting
- Strong understanding of transport legislation and compliance requirements
- In-depth knowledge of transport systems, regulations, and operational processes
- Familiarity with Sage or similar computerised transport/finance systems
- Good understanding of cost control and financial awareness
