This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Commercial Analyst based in our London office, with a preference for five days per week in the office. Reporting to the Group Head of Asset Management, you’ll play a key role in driving the commercial success of AMP’s growing portfolio of flexible energy assets, including gas generation, battery storage and e-boiler technologies.

Working at the heart of our Asset Management team, you’ll combine market insight, financial modelling and commercial analysis to influence strategic decisions, optimise asset performance and help maximise value across the portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded analyst with a strong understanding of UK energy markets who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing business decisions and delivering measurable commercial outcomes.

The role will involve:

  • Leading the commercial optimisation of AMP’s growing portfolio of flexible energy assets.
  • Developing trading strategies that maximise portfolio performance while effectively managing commercial risk.
  • Delivering financial modelling and commercial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase revenue, reduce costs and improve trading performance.
  • Providing commercial insight through budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to optimise operational and financial outcomes.
  • Supporting the commercial evaluation of new projects, asset acquisitions and growth opportunities.

What we are looking for:

An experienced commercial analyst with strong financial and analytical skills, a sound understanding of UK energy markets and the ability to turn complex data into commercial insight. You will have:

  • Experience within the UK energy market.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capability.
  • Knowledge of GB energy market mechanisms and network charging arrangements (including GDUoS and TNUoS).
  • Strong financial literacy and a good understanding of accounting principles.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to influence stakeholders and identify opportunities for improvement.

Additional information:

Location: Red Lion Street, London

Hours of work: 09:00 – 18:00 with 1-hour unpaid lunch.

Contract Type: Full Time/ Permanent. This role is primarily office-based, with a preference for five days per week in the office. Competitive salary to be discussed at interview.
