At every level, we are looking for bold, ambitious, bright, and collaborative people that share our commitment to making a difference and we have a fantastic new opportunity for two Monitoring and Response Technicians to join our team. The Monitoring & Response Technicians will be responsible for overseeing the operational status of:
- 65 MTU gas engines (2.5MW) across 35 sites
- 1,000 small‑scale grid‑connected batteries (50kW) across around 1,000 sites
- A growing fleet of electric boilers across several sites
Working on a rotational 4-on / 2-off schedule with alternating early and late shifts, the technician will ensure asset availability, fault resolution, engineer, parts and safety coordination outside of standard working hours. The role will involve:
- Remotely monitoring engine, battery, electric boiler, and other energy asset performance via SCADA and other platforms
- Identifying, analysing, and resetting faults in real-time to maintain asset uptime
- Updating the trading platform accordingly with accurate asset availability/unavailability status
- Coordinating with on‑call engineers and parts stock, ensuring timely dispatch and fault resolution
- Creating and managing jobs on our service platform
- Tracking engineer locations via tracking software and CCTV to ensure lone working safety compliance
- Compiling and sending end‑of‑shift reports to the O&M team
- Analysing data and trends – identifying and resolving issues
What we are looking for:
- Strong report writing and documentation skills, especially for shift handovers and technical reports.
- Self‑motivated and independent, with the ability to manage tasks without close supervision.
- Strong sense of responsibility for safety and operational integrity.
- Decisive and calm under pressure, able to make the right call in real‑time fault situations.
- Collaborative communicator, able to work across teams and with on‑call engineers.
- Detail‑oriented, ensuring accuracy in reporting and system update.
- A basic knowledge of how an engine works.
- Knowledge of energy trading platforms and dispatch protocols, or willingness to learn as training will be given.

Additional information:
Salary: To be discussed at interview. Hours of work: Early: 06:00–15:00 (1‑hour unpaid break; 8 paid hours) or Late: 14:00–23:00 (1‑hour unpaid break; 8 paid hours). Shifts are worked in blocks of four consecutive earlies or four consecutive lates followed by two consecutive rest days.
