Job Description:
Amour Recruitment is seeking a proactive and highly organised Logistics Operator.
You will be an integral part of the business, responsible for Customs clearance and logistics solutions for cargoes arriving at our client’s premises and other port facilities across the UK.
Duties include:
- Ensure manifests are completed for all cargoes arriving by sea or road, in accordance with HMRC legislations and port inventory requirements.
- Ascertain the correct classification of goods.
- Calculate tariffs according to UK and EU regulations.
- Seek the most efficient clearance procedures and tariffs for customers.
- Complete all necessary duty worksheets, databases, certificates, online forms, and applications.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders regarding clearances and cargo inspections.
Personal requirements:
- Previous import/export experience and knowledge of customs formalities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to work independently under pressure.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday: three weeks of 8am-5pm and one week of 10am-7pm. Plus, one weekend in four (Saturday 8am-5pm, Sunday 8am-12pm), paid as overtime.
