As we continue to expand our product portfolio, we're looking for a Product Compliance Engineer to own the certification and regulatory strategy across our products lines - ensuring new and existing designs meet the safety, environmental, and quality standards required in the markets we serve.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Product Compliance Engineer to apply their expertise across a diverse range of products and international standards.

The Opportunity

  • Lead product certification efforts across relevant standards, which may include:

Hazardous location / explosion protection

ATEX, IECEx, UL/CSA Class I Div 1 & 2

Electrical Safety & EMC

UL, CSA, CE marking, IEC 61010 / 60079 series

Environmental & Materials Compliance

Ro HS, REACH, TSCA, Prop 65

Quality Management

  • ISO 9001, ISO 14001, API monogram requirements where applicable
  • Act as the primary liaison with third-party certification bodies (e. g., UL, TÜV, CSA, notified bodies) — managing submissions, testing, audits, and renewals.
  • Review new product designs early in development to flag compliance risks before they become costly late-stage redesigns.
  • Maintain and update technical files, declarations of conformity, and certification documentation.
  • Interpret evolving regulatory and standards changes and translate them into actionable engineering requirements.
  • Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions when compliance issues are identified in the field or during audits.
  • Partner with sourcing/procurement to ensure component-level compliance (e. g., connectors, materials) meets end-product certification requirements.
  • Train and advise engineering teams on compliance requirements relevant to their designs.
  • Track and manage the certification roadmap/calendar across the product portfolio.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, or certification engineering, ideally in industrial, oil & gas, or process control equipment.
  • Working knowledge of at least one major hazardous-location, pressure equipment or electrical safety standard (ATEX/IECEx, UL, CSA, CE).
  • Experience managing certification projects with external test labs or notified bodies.
  • Strong technical documentation skills (technical files, test reports, Declarations of Conformity).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in English
  • Direct experience with ATEX/IECEx explosion-protection certification (Ex d, Ex ia, etc.).
  • ISO 9001 internal auditor experience.
  • Experience with connector and cable assembly certification (thermal ratings, ingress protection/IP ratings).
  • Six Sigma/quality engineering background.
  • What Success Looks Like in the First Year
  • Ownership of the certification status and roadmap for AMOT's core product lines.
  • Established working relationships with key certification bodies.
  • A documented, repeatable process for bringing new designs through compliance review.
  • Reduced time-to-certification for new product launches.
