ROLE OVERVIEW The role is critical in posting all accounting transactions into our accounting software, supporting control account reconciliations and ad‑hoc analysis while meeting strict weekly, monthly and quarterly deadlines.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Post invoices and transactions in multiple currencies across statutory entities.
- Own multiple currency bank accounts; post and reconcile weekly.
- Own gross profit margin; reconcile to the balance sheet monthly.
- Prepare and post journals weekly and monthly (depreciation, accruals, prepayments, etc.).
- Record intercompany transactions; produce monthly reconciliations for consolidation.
- Prepare monthly profit and loss account and balance sheet.
- Handle general ad‑hoc tasks.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL
- Level 2 English and Maths.
- Accounting degree (or similar).
- Working towards full ACA/CIMA accreditation.
- Prior experience in a relevant finance and/or accounting role.
- Accounts experience.
- Experience using Access dimensions.
- Understanding of accounting or financial environment.
- Working knowledge of accounting routines (month‑end reconciliations, journals, nominals).
- Experience preparing and reviewing control account reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Positive attitude, punctual and reliable.
- Ability to follow procedures and communicate clearly to clients, contractors and colleagues.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and prioritise workloads, multitask.
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables).
DESIRABLE
- Experience dealing with multi‑currencies.
- Experience using Access dimensions.
- Experience preparing and reviewing control account reconciliations.
THE PACKAGE You can expect a competitive salary in the region of £30,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience. This is initially a three‑month fixed‑term contract with an immediate start.
