Female Support Worker: Runcorn

Energetic and Chatty? And looking for a new opportunity? We have an exciting opportunity for skilled support workers, with experience with LD, and Cerebral Palsy!

  • Role: Female Support worker
  • Location: Runcorn
  • Salary: £14.65 per hour (inclusive of holiday entitlement)
  • Shifts: Starting at 7am – 10pm then a sleep shift 10pm – 7am occasionally
  • Expected hours: 24 per week

Key Role essentials and responsibilities:

  • Full UK drivers’ licence
  • Competent verbal and written English
  • Must have experience within health and social care settings

Meet the person you’ll be supporting:

I am a lady in my 30s who has Epilepsy, Learning disabilities, Cerebral Palsy and Hydrocephalus, I am also non verbal.

What challenges do I have? I can display challenging behaviours.

What are my aspirations? To continue to live independently, eat a healthy diet, and for my days to be more focused on my activities.

What activities do I like to do? I go to keep fit and yoga, I love going to the park and going to the safari park, and getting out to go shopping or into the community.

How do I get out into my local community? I have a Motability vehicle which staff can use to access the community.

How would I describe myself? I am bubbly, energetic and have a good sense of humour. I like routine, and to get to know the team around me. I am welcoming of new faces.

What are some of my long-term goals? To have a positive staff team who can help me to continue doing fun activities.

My team:

How many people support me at one time? I am supported on a 2:1 during the day and 1:1 during the night.

What shift patterns do my team do? My shift patterns are 7am to 10pm, with staff sleeping over and finishing the next morning at 7am. Members of my current team have been supporting me for several years, and know my routines well, so you will get a full introduction and be well supported.

It is a requirement to provide an overseas police check dated within the last 3 months of being in the UK; if you have been outside the UK for longer than a year in the last 10 years.
