Amore Group are looking for residential support workers to join an established children's home in Widnes. Who are we looking for?

We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, flexible and caring people to join our friendly team. You will be emotionally robust and driven to make a difference to children’s lived experiences. You will want to really understand our children and their backgrounds, making sure that their needs are at the centre of everything we do. You will be approachable, with an eye for detail and good communication skills. You will support Kevin Orme Registered Manager and the Home’s Deputy Manager, ensuring that our children’s safety is always assured, and that all protocols and regulations are fully adhered to.

We are looking for someone with some experience of Children’s Care and you will bring some knowledge of OFSTED regulations and standards. The successful candidate will also bring empathy, compassion, resilience and positive parenting skills. You will play an active role in fostering a safe, welcoming environment and acting as a key advocate for the young people.

While a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable, we welcome applicants willing to work towards this qualification.

Shift patterns: 2 on and 4 off with 2 sleep shifts included. You will be paid £12.75 - £13.25 per hour depending on your experience; sleep shifts are paid at £50 – with plenty of opportunities for overtime.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Have a working knowledge and experience of supporting children & young people in a residential setting.
  • Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Have the ability to listen effectively to both the person they are supporting and their colleagues.
  • Are open and honest, patient, have a good sense of humour and a positive outlook.
  • Can be calm under pressure when dealing with challenging behaviours.
  • Can be consistent with routines and boundaries.

As a company we are unable to offer sponsorship for overseas candidates. Applicants must have proof of right to work in the UK. It is a requirement to provide an overseas police check dated within the last 3 months of being in the UK; if you have been outside of the UK for longer than a year in the last 10 years.
