The Opportunity

As a Corporate Tax Senior Manager, you’ll take a leading role in delivering high-quality corporate tax services to a diverse client portfolio. This includes managing complex compliance work, providing advanced technical advice, mentoring team members, and supporting the continued growth of the tax practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Management & Delivery
    • Lead and oversee all aspects of corporate tax assignments for a varied client base.
    • Manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on tax matters.
    • Plan and deliver assignments efficiently, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
    • Provide proactive insights and solutions that add value to clients.
  • Technical Expertise & Advisory
    • Conduct detailed technical research on complex corporate tax issues.
    • Provide strategic and practical tax planning advice.
    • Review complex corporate tax computations and returns.
    • Ensure all advice is robust, compliant, and risk-aware.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Mentor and coach junior team members, providing feedback and development support.
    • Lead internal training sessions to strengthen technical knowledge and best practices.
    • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Innovation & Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency through technology and improved processes.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in corporate tax compliance.
  • Business Development & Networking
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and professional networks.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and service lines.
    • Represent the firm at local networking events and industry functions.
  • Risk Management & Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax legislation, professional standards, and firm policies.
    • Identify and mitigate potential operational and reputational risks.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Qualifications: CTA-qualified (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 8+ years in corporate tax, ideally within a practice environment.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of UK corporate tax compliance, planning, and advisory.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams and review complex tax work.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Software: Proficient in Alphatax or similar tax software; advanced Excel and Word skills.
  • Commercial Awareness: Ability to make sound business decisions and support practice growth.
