About Amodo
We are a Sheffield based start-up providing expert engineering consultancy to a variety of clients and industries. We primarily focus on engineered product design, and work in a range of industries and contexts from quantum computing and biotech to heavy industry and animal welfare. About You
We value drive, culture fit, and a track record of engineering excellence. Below competencies, interests, and attributes are extremely desirable:
- Strong background in frontend and/or backend development
- Experience writing and deploying production code in one or more of: CPP, JS, TypeScript, Python
- Excellent grasp of programming best practice
- 3+ years experience post‐qualification
Below competencies will strengthen an application:
- Experience writing firmware and working on hardware projects
- Experienced and enthusiastic in using LLMs and other AI tools to speed up workflows (e.g. Claude code)
- Interest in beautiful UX and graphic design
- Familiarity with electronics and microcontrollers

Project structure: You will generally be on one main project at a time, while supporting 1‐2 smaller projects. Team sizes vary from 2‐10+ engineers, where most are ~4. Durations largely are within the 2‐8 month range.
