About Amodo
We are a Sheffield based start-up providing expert engineering consultancy to a variety of clients and industries. We primarily focus on engineered product design, and work in a range of industries and contexts from quantum computing and biotech to heavy industry and animal welfare. We have a focus on ethical and sustainable delivery, but that means more to us than just bamboo straws and tote bags - we choose to work on projects that matter, work to deliver the best solution for our clients no matter what, and commit to doing so without compromising our values.
Successful candidates will work alongside our multidisciplinary team to design and develop cutting edge solutions, systems, and products.
About You
We value drive, culture fit, and a track‐record of engineering excellence and above all else, but the below competencies, interests, and attributes are extremely desirable:
- Experience with frontend or backend development
- Experience writing and deploying code in one or more: CPP, JS, TypeScript, Python
- Excellent grasp of programming best practice
Alongside the above, the below competencies will strengthen an application:
- Experience writing firmware and working on hardware projects
- Experienced and enthusiastic in using LLM tools to speed up workflows (e.g claude code)
- Interest in beautiful UX and graphic design
- Familiarity with electronics and microcontrollers

Project structure: You will generally be on 1 main project at a time, whilst supporting on 1-2 smaller projects. Team sizes vary from 2-10+ engineers, where most are ~4. Durations largely are within the 2 - 8 months range.
