We are currently recruiting 10 Machine Operatives to join a busy packaging manufacturing operation based in Segensworth, Fareham. This is a 6-month contract offering £13.00 per hour, with an immediate start available. The site is involved in the manufacture and conversion of flexible packaging products, and we are particularly interested in candidates with experience operating production, converting or packaging machinery.
The Role
As a Machine Operative, you may work across a range of production processes and machinery, including:
- Flexographic printing machinery - printing onto plastic film and packaging materials
- Adhesive lamination machinery - combining different films and materials
- Bag-making and converting machinery - converting film into finished bags and packaging products
- Slitting and rewinding equipment - cutting and rewinding film/reels to required specifications
- Automated production and material-handling equipment - machinery involving perforating, punching, labelling, coding and slitting
- Automated weighing, labelling, wrapping and palletisation processes
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and monitor production machinery
- Set up and adjust machinery as required
- Monitor production quality and output
- Carry out quality checks throughout the production process
- Handle raw materials and production reels
- Identify and report machine faults or production issues
- Follow production procedures and health safety requirements
- Remove, weigh and label production scrap where required
- Maintain a clean and organised production area
- Work towards production targets and deadlines
Experience Required
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
- Machine Operation
- Packaging or flexible packaging
- Manufacturing or production
- Slitting / rewinding
- Flexographic printing
- Lamination
- Bag making / converting
- Production machinery or automated manufacturing equipment
Slitter Operator or similar converting experience would be particularly relevant to this position. Candidates should be reliable, safety-conscious and comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment.
