The reactive social media content role involves creating on-site daily social videos and graphics for our various outputs and social channels including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts and TikTok. The goal is to boost our audiences' online digital engagement through creative compelling content that speaks to the trending human rights issues of the day.

ABOUT YOU

The role would suit a digital native with experience in a fast-paced, creative environment, particularly those with a background in news or social media.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write and design or edit daily compelling and informative human rights video and graphic content for social media.
  • Attend morning news meetings and identify trending stories to pitch and develop.
  • Fact-check to ensure all content is on point and on brand, and that assets used are either fully cleared or credited in accordance with Amnesty International content guidelines.
  • Reediting and posting content in a variety of dimensions.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation skills with the ability to involve multiple stakeholders in content production.
  • Excellent skills using Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and Canva with After Effects experience desirable.
  • Good understanding of media law (particularly copyright), ethical considerations regarding data rights and licensing content.
  • Single-handedly execute the entire writing and production process -- from ideation and organization to management and execution.
