As part of the Deputy Secretary General directorate, the LRC provides expert language and meeting management services and guidance to the International Secretariat and the Movement. It leverages language skills, shares knowledge and streamlines operations to ensure the most effective and strategic use of language and production funding and resources. It does this by delivering high-quality content and services, promoting best practices in the field of language and applying an innovative, multi-disciplinary approach.
In this role, you will llead the planning, operational delivery and continuous improvement of Amnesty International's Global Assembly (GA) and other international governance events, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, inclusively and in line with organisational objectives. The role serves as the primary operational lead for the Global Assembly and provides expert event and meeting management advice and support to governance bodies, committees and colleagues across the organisation.
The LRC (Language Resource Centre) is a network oflanguage and events management professionals with staff in global and regional IS offices, as well as a number of remote workers. The postoccasionally requires working out of hours, including supporting night-time and weekend meetings. Arrangements are made with the line manager to ensure a balance of work/life hours. Remote working is acceptable.
LOCATION
The location for this role is London, Paris or Madrid. The salary on offer will bedependent on the location.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project manage the Global Assembly and other international meetings from initial scoping through delivery and post-event evaluation, ensuring all operational, logistical and administrative requirements are effectively coordinated throughout the event lifecycle.
- Lead the sourcing and contracting of venues and service providers through robust procurement and tender processes, managing supplier relationships and negotiations to secure cost-effective solutions and value for money.
- Ensure events align with Amnesty International's sustainability, diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility commitments, promoting environmentally responsible and inclusive event delivery.
- Collaborate with relevant colleagues to ensure events adhere to health and safety, safeguarding and security standards, including appropriate risk management measures, emergency response protocols and insurance requirements.
- Provide strategic advice, guidance and practical expertise to colleagues across the organisation on event management, logistics and conference delivery, supporting the successful planning and implementation of international events.
- Lead the development, maintenance and promotion of organisational event management standards, guidance, tools and resources, ensuring consistent approaches and best practices across the organisation.

- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Demonstrable problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, evolving plans and tight deadlines.
- Keen attention to detail and strong quality assurance skills.
- Ability to develop, monitor and reconcile complex event budgets.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse international audiences.
- Ability to develop clear participant communications and engagement strategies and manage complex information flows.
- Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
- Good political, cultural and organisational awareness and judgement. Fluency in English and the ability to work effectively in French and/or Spanish.
