Job Description

Job title: Regional Sales Engineer (home based)

Responsible to: Southern Sales Manager

The purpose of your job is to…

  • Manage existing sales accounts in a defined geographic area.
  • Develop new opportunities with the existing sales team.
  • Prospect and grow new accounts in a defined geographic area.
  • Develop and grow market share in line with business strategy.

Your responsibilities are …

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of accounts.
  • Deliver the expected revenue against budget.
  • Work alongside the area sales team to develop new business.
  • This is an external sales position focused on expanding the current customer base and securing new business, approximately 70% Account Management and 30% new business.
  • Cross-sell the full range of our client’s products.
  • Cover main channels to market: OEM, End User, and Distributors.
  • Identify, understand, and report industry trends and movements to the management team.
  • Implement an “Industry Segment Approach” to help our client achieve its position in all priority segments.
  • Manage key regional accounts.
  • Application engineering to strengthen our client’s position in selected applications.
  • Ensure CRM and Pipeline management tools are used and updated.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Person Specification

Attributes

Essential

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.
  • Possess a current Driving Licence.
  • Possess a current Passport.
  • Resident in the territory (close proximity may be considered).

Desirable

  • Degree or Engineering qualification.

Experience

  • Previous roles providing proactive customer service within industrial environments.
  • Report writing experience.
  • Previous sales experience.
  • Knowledge of our client’s industry.

  • IT literate (Microsoft Office Suite).
