AMLZ Recruiting is the executive search brand of AMLZ GmbH, headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany. We specialize in placing exceptional professionals and executives with leading companies worldwide. Our client is a research‑driven seed and agricultural technology company based near Shanghai, China. The company combines cutting‑edge breeding science, advanced biotechnology, and large‑scale field implementation to accelerate the transformation of innovation into high‑value crop solutions. This role starts in March 2026 with a remote‑first setup. The first three months serve as a mutual onboarding period focused on alignment and deliverables; by default this phase is conducted remotely. If field trials, nursery cycles, or regulatory reviews require presence, short, fully sponsored on‑site visits in China may be scheduled by mutual agreement. After this period, the working model (remote/hybrid/on‑site) will be co‑defined based on project needs and demonstrated collaboration fit. Compensation is competitive, with additional allowances for any agreed on‑site participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Define a 3–5-year R&D roadmap for seed/crop technologies, covering gene breeding, biotechnology, and product pipelines.
- Lead end‑to‑end variety development—from germplasm selection and biotech research to multi‑location trials, demo plots, registration, and market launch.
- Own and optimize the seed R&D workflow and cultivation/production techniques, ensuring quality, reliability, and scale‑up readiness.
- Integrate crop‑protection innovations by evaluating new pesticides, biological control approaches, and plant growth regulators, aligning with safety and regulatory expectations.
- Coordinate cross‑functional execution with agronomy, production, quality, regulatory, marketing, and external partners (universities/institutes), delivering on time and to target.
Your Profile
- Ideally holding a Ph.D. in Agronomy/Plant Breeding/Genetics, Crop Science, Plant Protection, Chemistry/Polymer/Electrochemistry related to AgTech (or related field), or equivalent industry experience.
- Ideally 3+ years in seed industry or crop R&D, covering breeding workflows and field trial management.
- Practical experience across breeding trials, cultivation/seed production, and basic regulatory documentation; understanding of biological control and growth regulators.
- English is the working language; additional languages are a plus.
We Offer
- Very competitive salary package and comprehensive benefits.
- Remote‑first working model with optional short on‑site exchanges by mutual agreement.
- Housing and family allowances available when on‑site work is arranged.
- Access to modern breeding/field resources and data tools for high‑impact delivery.
- Dynamic and collaborative environment with clear growth opportunities.
