AMLZ Recruiting is the executive search brand of AMLZ GmbH, headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany. We specialize in placing exceptional professionals and executives with leading companies worldwide. Backed by a global network and deep industry expertise, we connect top talent with innovative organizations across a wide range of sectors.

Our client is a cutting‑edge robotics and intelligent systems innovator based in the greater Shanghai area, China, focused on next‑generation autonomous technologies for real‑world industrial environments. The teams combine applied machine intelligence with high‑performance mechatronics, perception, and motion control, working from simulation to prototype to field testing and scaled deployment.

This role starts in March 2026 with a remote‑first setup. The first three months will be remote to align objectives, workflows, and milestones. After that, any on‑site engagement in China may be arranged by mutual agreement based on project needs, for example for integration or field testing. Compensation is competitive, with additional allowances for any agreed on‑site participation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of autonomous robotic systems for industrial and field environments from concept to validated deployment.
  • Work on perception, motion control, planning, or embedded systems depending on your background and project needs.
  • Build and iterate simulation → prototype → field validation workflows with structured testing and traceability.
  • Support sensor fusion, real‑time control, and reliability engineering to achieve robust in‑situ performance.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and AI teams to integrate components into reliable, maintainable systems.
  • Prepare clear engineering documentation and reports to enable collaboration and continuous improvement.

Your Profile

  • Ideally holding a Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechatronics, Control, Computer Vision (or related field), or equivalent industry experience.
  • Ideally 3+ years in robotics R&D or system integration, covering one or more of motion control, planning, SLAM/mapping, perception, or embedded systems.
  • Experience with ROS and simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo or Isaac); proficiency in C++ and Python for robotic stacks.
  • Familiarity with sensor fusion (e.g., LiDAR, depth, IMU, camera), real‑time computing, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop or bench validation.
  • Understanding of safety, reliability, and quality practices for systems deployed in real industrial environments.
  • English is the working language; additional languages are a plus.

We Offer

  • Very competitive salary package and comprehensive benefits.
  • Remote‑first working model with optional short on‑site exchanges by mutual agreement.
  • Housing and travel allowances available when on‑site work is arranged.
  • Access to cutting‑edge tools and high‑impact, real‑world deployments.
  • Dynamic and innovative environment with clear growth opportunities.
