The Position
- Make sure machines are serviced and inspected to maintenance and/or legal requirements.
- Develop TPM routines and roll out training where necessary.
- Push development of preventative maintenance throughout AML.
- Perform preventative maintenance servicing across all machine tools.
- Perform other basic maintenance routines on machine tools.
- Supplier interaction for all aspects of maintenance/servicing.
- Oversee all contractor works.
- Obtain quotes for all plant works.
- Respond to breakdowns.
- Sign off of new equipment after install.
- Ensure maintenance records are live and up to date.
- Ensure compliance to all maintenance procedures.
- Ensure all equipment is fit for purpose via regular servicing.
- Maintain coolant health through factory.
- Keep working environment tidy.
- Conducting appraisals of apprentices under your supervision, identifying what’s going well and areas for improvement along with additional training needs to further their development.
- Comply with all applicable health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and legal obligations, including those relevant to CNC machining and high-reliability manufacturing.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, reporting any hazards, incidents, near-misses, or unsafe behaviours promptly and accurately.
- Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately, ensuring correct use in line with task and risk requirements.
- Participate in mandatory EHS training, emergency response drills, and company health and wellbeing initiatives.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement in safety and sustainability, including contributing ideas for reducing risk, waste, and environmental impact.
- Demonstrate environmental awareness by following procedures for responsible use of materials, recycling, and energy conservation.
The Person
- Apprentice trained or equivalent experience.
- At least 2-year maintenance experience.
- Experience working within a manufacturing industry.
- Experience managing a Team environment.
- Ability to manage own time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
