About the Company
Our client is a well-established commercial and industrial vehicle business based in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire specialising in high-quality vehicle services for both domestic and commercial clients. Their expertise covers the supply and service of the specific needs of the road transport industry - animal feed vehicles, bulk blowing vehicles and sucker vehicles.
The Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Engineer to join our client’s team. This is a hands-on role that requires versatility across multiple automotive repair and maintenance disciplines.
Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Fitter role:
- To manufacture, assemble and build specialist projects using engineering drawings and associated design data to meet the business and customer expectations
- Installing rivets with pneumatic rivet guns
- Use of silicone and sealants with different preparation methods
- Using battery and electric powered drill guns
- Assembling and jointing different panels and parts together
- Torquing, torque marking and recording and completing a work traveller/job card
- Fettling (non-essential) using approved and calibrated settings tools
- Experience working with trucks, containers, tanks, vehicle bodies etc.
- Inspecting and recording before passing on to the next stage
- MIG/TIG welding specifically aluminium would be advantageous
