Welder/Fabricator role based in Portland. AMLR is partnering with a UK-based marine engineering company during a period of growth and transformation. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder to become an integral part of our expert team. Note: Due to the nature of the market our client supplies into, all candidates must be UK residents.

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a growing team of industry experts. The position involves working with both steel and aluminium on a diverse range of projects, ensuring no two days are the same. You will play a key role in new vessel builds, offsite engineering assignments, and custom fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will have prior experience and, preferably, certification in welding techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Proven experience in MIG, TIG and MMA welding techniques
  • Proficiency in welding techniques specific to marine standards
  • Hands-on experience with setting, operating and maintaining welding equipment
  • Able to complete welding techniques in all positions
  • Experience working with steel and aluminium
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in welding or fabrication are desirable but not essential
