Location: Kirkby in Ashfield

Pay: £50,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week

  • Monday to Thursday - 7.45am - 5.00 pm (half hour lunch break)
  • Friday - 8.00 am - 1.00 pm (no lunch break)

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Maintenance Engineer to support the production of flight‑critical aerospace components. This is a key role within a precision manufacturing environment, ensuring the total reliability and performance of advanced CNC milling and turning centres. Working within a stringent AS9100 quality framework, you will be a dual‑skilled (electrical & mechanical) engineer, capable of diagnosing complex faults and maintaining high‑value machinery to exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Level 3 NVQ/BTEC in Engineering or a time‑served apprenticeship
  • Proven experience in aerospace or high‑precision manufacturing environments
  • Strong experience maintaining 3, 4, and 5‑axis CNC machines
  • Dual‑skilled capability in both electrical fault‑finding and mechanical maintenance
  • 18th Edition Electrical Qualification
  • Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain control systems
  • Familiarity with Mazak, Grob, or AgieCharmilles machinery
  • Rapid diagnosis and repair of breakdowns on multi‑axis CNC machinery
  • Support production to meet strict aerospace delivery schedules
  • Diagnose and repair issues with servo drives and safety PLC circuits
  • Strip, repair, and rebuild precision components including spindles, ball screws, and bearings
  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance on high‑precision machinery
  • Ensure machines meet tight tolerance and calibration standards
  • Accurately record maintenance activities using CMMS systems
  • Work in line with aerospace regulatory standards and health & safety requirements
  • Contribute to Lean initiatives to reduce downtime
  • Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
