The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Buyer to lead our purchasing, logistics, and supply chain operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a key position responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of materials and services to meet customer requirements.
You will play a vital role in ensuring that all supply chain activities deliver “right first time,” on time, in full, and at the correct cost, while also managing a key customer account involving overseas supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Buyer role:
- Lead and manage Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Logistics teams on a day-to-day basis
- Ensure timely delivery of raw materials, subcontract machining, and treatments to required quality and cost standards
- Own and deliver against Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) targets
- Manage a key customer account, including overseas (India) supply chain coordination and inventory management
- Develop and maintain strong, strategic supplier relationships
- Drive continuous improvement, standardisation, and performance reporting across all supply chain processes
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure all operational objectives are achieved
- Promote and maintain safe working practices across all functions
- Ensure full compliance with company and group policies
About You
- 3–5 years’ experience in a supply chain role, ideally within aerospace or defence manufacturing (AS9100 environment)
- Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations
- Experience using MRP systems and analysing data
- Proven ability to manage projects and coordinate teams effectively
- A proactive problem solver with a track record of driving improvements
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise workload and multitask
- A strong team player, able to work independently when required
Shifts & Salary for the Senior Buyer role:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:15pm (30-minute lunch break)
- Friday: 8:00am – 1:00pm (no lunch break)
- Pay: ÂŁ45-ÂŁ55k per annum, depending on experience
