Commodity Manager

Job Title: Procurement and Commodity Manager Reporting to: Head of Sourcing Location: UK (Hybrid, site visit required once per month) Contract:18 month maternity cover Salary: £50,000 Purpose of Role: The Commodity Manager will drive supplier strategies, secure cost-effective terms, and ensure supply continuity for direct commodities in the aerospace sector. This role requires strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct supplier negotiations and manage contracts to achieve best terms and compliance * Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies * Identify cost-saving opportunities and report on financial performance * Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes * Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, including contingency planning * Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business needs * Prepare reports on supplier performance, savings, and market conditions * Support ERP system implementation and use procurement software and analytics tools Core Skills & Attributes: * Strategic thinker, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities * Knowledge of aerospace raw materials and supply markets preferred * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project); MRP/ERP experience preferred * Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills * Ability to travel within the UK and overseas (valid passport required) * Valid UK driving licence This is a high-impact role for someone ready to make a difference in a dynamic, global aerospace supply chain.
